SessionTypes

XP Day 2004 logo
XP Day Benelux will have different types of sessions:

  • Simulation or game:
A simulation or game lets participants experiment with and experience new concepts and includes reflection to see how the new concepts can be applied in real-world settings.

Examples are the XP Game and the Lego Game

  • Workshop
Workshops are sessions in which participants work in a structured way on a topic set by the workshop organiser.

  • Interactive presentation or demonstration
The workshop organisers present some new ideas, concepts, techniques or tools and involve the audience, so that they can learn by doing.

  • Case study
The workshop organisers tell the story of a case study and involve the audience, so that they can learn by doing.

  • Goldfish bowl or panel discussion
The organisers start and moderate a discussion on a chosen topic. The audience can either join in the debate (goldfish bowl) or ask questions of the panelists.

Suggestions for other session types are welcome.
