What I like about it
- Real life example
- Get to know behavioural pattern I did not know before
- Play
- New presenter
- New way to bring an “old” book back
- The idea: that patterns exist for change & can help one to structure change
- Subject, play, format
- Great session. I just “read a book in 90 minutes”
- Discussion and play
- Practical labels
- Gives new ideas to resolve problems – I guess we often try the same patterns according to our comfort zone
- I like using intuition for changing organizations. Now it’s nice there’s a language & patterns that you can use.
- The role playing sessions were nice!
- The topic
- Makes me aware of the patterns, that they do exist in the roles of the people
- The play
- Short, sharp explanation of patterns
- Work in groups
- Format: lots of interaction
- Role playing story
- The exercise was actually useful for someone
- Informative
- Comprehensive
- Good dynamic: presenting pair worked well
- Learning new real life patterns
- How to tackle these issues
- Presented in a fun way.
- Participated myself
- Presented enthusiastically
- Interesting format, nice overview
To improve
- Prepare the role play acting a little more so that the play will be more clear and easy to understand
- Find some way to show the patterns with more energy
- Maybe pick out a few patterns and deep dive into them?
- Walk around and help people to focus on the exercise
- More transfer of experience/feedback from presenters during workshop part
- More “directions” during case studies: find a problem, go through patterns
- Even more interactive & engaging the audience
- Little more practice time for the “players”
- Steer the discussion to the patterns list early on as otherwise people keep just talking about the problem + solution without mapping to the list and therefore hitting the learning objective
- A little more coordination between the speakers
- Use colour in the slides. They are monochrome
- More explaining of the patterns (== more time)
- Handouts to take home
- Improve the explanation of the graph
- Use a remote control
- Take charge of the plays and the transitions between play and presentation
- Last part exercise: split into 2 iterations or more instead of one large section. Benefit: let the groups learn from each other’s first results
- More story, fewer cases
- The thing with the hats depends too much on who is playing
- Involve more the participants, make it a workshop
- Have “better trained” actors: while they gave a good enough example, they were not always clear and understandable. They need to rehearse more
- Maybe some more success stories?
- A bit more depth
- More detailed examples of the patterns
- There was some time left in the end that could have been used
