Keep improving with retrospectives!
Objectives:
To get to know retrospectives as a useful tool for team improvement, by participating in one.
Organizer: Nicole Belilos
Contents:
Retrospectives are a great way for a team to learn and improve. Agile teams often hold retrospectives, preferably at the end of every iteration. They take the time to look back and learn about the things that went well, and the things that could be improved.
The best way to learn how to do a retrospective is to actually participate in one. That's what we will do in this session, where we will have a retrospective of the XP Days Benelux Conference.
Process & Timetable:
We will start with a short lecture about the basics of retrospectives and the different ways you can hold one.
Then we will actually have a retrospective about the conference, in which everyone participates. We will use some common retrospective techniques to find out::
What went well?
What could be improved?
What puzzles us?
The outcome of the retrospective will be presented to the organisers of the Conference, so they can keep improving too.
Participation will be limited to 25 people.
Intended Audience:
People who want to learn how to do a retrospective and all people who want to give feedback on the XP Days conference.
Benefits of participating:
After this session, you will know about the basics of retrospectives, and you will have experienced one. You will know where to find more information. You will be able to introduce retrospectives into your own organization.
